Sorry for all those who tuned in to CBS News tonight expecting to see yours truly. We were preempted by news about the G-8. Rumor has it we will be on next Sunday, and I’ll give you the thumbs up when it’s confirmed.

Congratulations on all your success, Lori. It’s nice to see someone, especially you, recognized for doing something important, something that makes this world a better place. At least they bumped you for something semi-newsworthy like the G-8 and not for something goofy like a Kardashian or a squirrel on water skis! Or a Kardashian on water skis….

  HillBillz … Thanks. It’s easy when it’s not about me! I’m so stoked about finding ways to bridge the military/civilian gap. I know it’s a trite and overused phrase, but it’s there, and it’s real, and it’s worth talking about. I’m lucky enough to have a platform to talk about these issues because of my background, so I’m honored to do it. Maybe I should consider taking up water skiing …

That’s not what G-8 is?
So how important can they be, to deny YOU your moment in the limelight?

  Ha ha John … it was actually a moment of justifying redemption. The producer emailed me and said they wanted to shrink the piece down and she demanded that they delay it instead because it deserved full coverage. Really great. And it will air the day before Memorial Day, which I think is quite fitting. Now, hope for a slow news day …
